The Red-tailed Hawk family has succeed in having two eyas. Very hard to see them but I can hear them and see them flapping around high in the nest.

Female in the nest March 5, 2010

Both red tailed hawks were circling the nest today. At one point the female was sitting in the nest looking around (see photos). Also a dove landed on the branch in front of her - she quickly dove and found her breakfast.

Building the nest March 3, 2010

Today there was a lot of activity on the nest. Both hawks were working hard on the nest. The female landed in front of me - broke off a branch then right back into the nest. She was checking out the nest - laying in it, moving a branch, plucking the branches above. Time must be getting close. Notice the full crop (must have just eaten), the extra feathers on the chest and legs for winter. This is one beautiful female hawk.

The female was just sitting on the lamp post near the civic centre. Looked like she had a full crop. I have seen her here before.

Female Red Tail hawk sitting in nest FEb 22, 2010

At lunch the female red-tail hawk was sitting in the nest. She worked on the nest for 20 minutes flying into the woods, breaking off branches and sticks. You could see her moving branches and sticks around inside the nest. A couple of photos from today.

Red Tailed Hawks flying around the building and nest Feb 19, 2010

Over the past week I have seen the pair of red tail hawks soaring around the office building and by the nest. Most days by the time I get down to take a photo they have left the area. Days that I have not been at work Jack has seen them as well.

It looks like they will be nesting again by the office.
Laying of the eggs will not take place until the middle to end of March.

Closer to that time they will start to spend more and more time by the nest.
