A couple of more shots of the baby eyas (Red tailed Hawk). Over the next week I will be able to get better shots of the them.

photos of Red-Tailed Hawk vs Kestrel

The fight was taking place high in the sky. The shots are the best I could do with a 400mm. Double click to enlarge them.

Kestrel chasing Red tail in the air.

The fight started here Red Tail sitting on condo and Kestrel attacks.

2 Peregrines join the fight (sorry they were really high)

Red Tailed hawk vs Peregrine and Kestrels May 18 2010

Today I watched one of the eyas flapping and sitting on the side of the nest. At the end of my lunch activity started. The red tail female flew off to sit on the top of the condo behind the Civic Centre when she was attacked by 2 kestrels. She flew back todays the nest and the kestrels continued to attack her - then a pair of peregrine falcons also came in - the male red tailed hawk also arrived to participate in this battle. By the end the peregrines were circling the nest - both red tailed hawks flew away and so did the kestrels. I went upstairs to look inside the nest and by the time I arrived back the female was back on the nest and I could see 2 eyas.

SCARY
