Red Tailed Hawk fledgling playing with rocks on top of building

After work Janice and I watched the young red-tailed hawks play. They flew from tree to tree and then one landed on the top of the health building roof. He was having a wonderful time throwing the rock and then chasing it.

this young red tailed hawk was flying everywhere and every flight was scary. They live in the middle of condos, business building, cars - many lanes of traffice, shopping malls and more. It takes my breath away when I see them go.

During my lunch hour yesterday I had one of the young hawks playing on the ground with an acorn. He jumped, fell, lost the acorn and then started all over again.

Red Tailed Hawks meet nana June 20, 2010

This morning i took my mom up to see the hawks. I told her to come up the small hill and there in front of her was a fledgling hawk (young). Told her to turn around and the second one was there. Told her to look over to the parking lot and there was the third. Funny when she went to look at the one on the branch it was gone.

Went to the SCC to see no hawks at first. Found one in the woodlot and the other at the side of the nest.
