The Red-tailed Hawk family has succeed in having two eyas. Very hard to see them but I can hear them and see them flapping around high in the nest.

Red-Tailed Hawks all seen - 2 adults and 2 eyas.May 23, 2010

A great day at the nest with Graham (who enjoyed the hawks last year with me) and Pat and Nancy on their first visit (and hopefully will become regulars).
The hawks gave us a great sighting. Female on nest feeding the 2 eyas, dad on the government building doing NOTHING, lots of flapping and sitting on the edge of the nest. Also in the distance 2 Turkey Vultures were seen.
Also one special photo for Chris our newest collection of pooparazi shots.

Amazing how large the eyas are getting

Notice the one on the right is high on his legs - he was standing straight up. Very weird.

The eyas was sitting up on the edge of the nest proud as can be. The female then flew to the nearest building and just sat there watching the nest.

A few shots from the parking lot. Most of the time the eyas are up and moving. Female spends most of the time still on the nest.

Finally have a shot of 2 of the eyas in clear view. Hopefully by the weekend I will get all 3 in a shot. The female was feeding the eyas and here is a series of shots.

photos of Red-Tailed Hawk vs Kestrel

The fight was taking place high in the sky. The shots are the best I could do with a 400mm. Double click to enlarge them.

Kestrel chasing Red tail in the air.

The fight started here Red Tail sitting on condo and Kestrel attacks.

2 Peregrines join the fight (sorry they were really high)
