The Red-tailed Hawk family has succeed in having two eyas. Very hard to see them but I can hear them and see them flapping around high in the nest.

In Flight with the Hawks July 3, 2010

the juvenile red-tailed hawks were flying all over the place. They are still flying very low. Today a group of people came out the centre and saw the hawks and started yelling and flapping their arms. It totally freaked out the hawks and one almost flew into the building.

the sporadic, unpredictable, and juvenile behavior of humans will never cease to amaze me. if i understand correctly, this nesting site is at a business park? and these are professional business men & women, yelling at birds and flapping their arms? how utterly embarrassing.
anyway, as i commented before, this blog is amazing. i can only imagine witnessing this kind of thing; hopefully someday i will. i don't know how you manage to get any work done...i would be at the window all day!

For the first time in my life I actually take my coffee breaks and lunch. I get emails and people stop by my office to tell me what they have also seen. i also arrive early to work and stay late.

I was really upset with the people for doing this behaviour. The interesting part is they moved that same day from my office area into the woods and other areas.
